Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rosuvastatin + BEM/RZR refers to the co-administration of the marketed statin rosuvastatin with the investigational fixed-dose combination (FDC) of bemnifosbuvir (BEM) and ruzasvir (RZR). This combination was evaluated in a Phase 1 drug-drug interaction (DDI) study (NCT06921941) conducted by Atea Pharmaceuticals. Bemnifosbuvir is a nucleotide analog that inhibits the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, and ruzasvir is an inhibitor of the HCV NS5A protein. Rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, serves as a probe substrate for the BCRP and OATP1B1 transporters in this study to assess the impact of the BEM/RZR FDC on the pharmacokinetics of co-administered drugs. The BEM/RZR FDC is being developed as an oral, once-daily regimen for the treatment of chronic HCV infection.
