Benalotide (also known as Beinaglutide Injection, with the brand name 菲塑美 for weight management) is a full-human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Shanghai ReHui Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is produced using gene engineering technology, resulting in an amino acid sequence identical to natural human GLP-1. Benalotide is approved in China for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled with metformin alone, and for weight management in adults with overweight or obesity.
