Overview

This is a combination of benazepril (an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor) and losartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker). Both medications are used to treat hypertension but through different mechanisms. Benazepril works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten, while losartan blocks the action of angiotensin II. Using these medications together is generally not recommended as standard practice due to increased risk of side effects including low blood pressure, kidney function impairment, and other adverse effects.
