Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three agents: - Bendamustine, a bifunctional alkylating agent with antimetabolite properties that induces DNA cross-linking and strand breaks, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. - Doxorubicin (also known as Adriamycin), an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates into DNA, inhibits topoisomerase II, and generates free radicals causing cytotoxicity. - Cytarabine (also known as Ara-C or cytosine arabinoside), an antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis by incorporation into DNA during the S-phase of the cell cycle. This combination is not a standard named regimen but represents a multi-agent chemotherapy protocol potentially used in hematologic malignancies such as lymphomas or leukemias. Each drug targets rapidly dividing cells through distinct mechanisms affecting DNA integrity and replication. The combination may be considered for aggressive lymphoid malignancies where multi-drug regimens are required for disease control[3][6][7].
