Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hydelmat (bendazac) is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) developed and marketed by Miyarisan Pharmaceutical in Japan. Unlike traditional NSAIDs that primarily act by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, bendazac's mechanism of action is characterized by its ability to stabilize proteins and inhibit their denaturation, a process that contributes to the inflammatory response. It also exhibits mild inhibitory effects on various inflammatory mediators. Hydelmat is specifically indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic skin conditions, including eczema and dermatitis. It is formulated as a 2% cream for topical administration and has reached the approved and marketed stage in Japan.
