Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Benefiting qi and yin resolving detoxication granule (Yiqi Yangyin Jiedu granule) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the treatment and prevention of recurrence and metastasis in patients with oral cavity carcinoma, particularly oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The formulation is based on TCM principles of nourishing Yin, benefiting Qi, and clearing toxic heat to address the underlying pathology of cancer progression. Mechanistically, the granule has been shown to inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of cancer cells, thereby reducing their invasive and migratory potential. Research indicates that it modulates several key oncogenic pathways, including the downregulation of the TGF-β1/Smad signaling axis and the inhibition of the PI3K/Akt pathway, which are critical for tumor growth and metastasis in oral cancer.
