Benralizumab + mometasone furoate is a combination of two drugs under investigation for the treatment of severe bilateral nasal polyposis in adults who remain symptomatic despite standard therapy. Benralizumab is a humanized, afucosylated monoclonal antibody (IgG1, kappa) that targets the interleukin 5 receptor alpha (IL‑5Rα) on eosinophils, leading to their rapid and near-complete depletion via antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). This reduces inflammation driven by eosinophils. Mometasone furoate is a potent synthetic corticosteroid with high affinity for the glucocorticoid receptor; it exerts anti-inflammatory effects by modulating gene expression and inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukins 4 and 5. The combination aims to provide an additional therapeutic option for patients with severe nasal polyps not controlled by current treatments[4][5][6].
