Benza Block

Benza Block is a line of over-the-counter, designated Class 2 cold medicines marketed in Japan that combine the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen with various antihistamines, sympathomimetic decongestants, antitussives, mucolytics, and ancillary agents to relieve multiple symptoms of the common cold, including fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, phlegm, headache, chills, and musculoskeletal pain. Different Benza Block variants (such as IP, L, L Premium, and YASUMO) adjust ingredient ratios and add components like tranexamic acid for mucosal inflammation, l-carbocysteine or guaifenesin for sputum, pseudoephedrine or dl-methylephedrine for nasal and bronchial symptoms, and first-generation antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine or diphenhydramine to control rhinorrhea and sneezing while, in some nighttime formulas, omitting caffeine to avoid insomnia.[1][2][3][4][6][7]
