The protocol involves applying Acanya in the morning and Atralin in the evening, with both applications preceded by the use of CeraVe lotion to mitigate potential irritation and improve skin barrier function. Clindamycin phosphate is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, specifically targeting *Cutibacterium acnes*. Benzoyl peroxide acts as a non-specific oxidizing antimicrobial and keratolytic agent. Tretinoin is a vitamin A derivative (retinoid) that binds to retinoic acid receptors to normalize follicular keratinization and prevent the formation of microcomedones. This multi-modal approach addresses three of the four primary pathogenic factors of acne: follicular hyperproliferation, microbial colonization, and inflammation.
