Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bepanthen Sensiderm is a steroid-free topical emollient and barrier-repair cream developed and marketed by Bayer. It is designed to relieve itching and redness associated with skin barrier damage, such as in atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic skin reactions, and dry skin. The formulation utilizes a proprietary Lipid Lamellar Technology (LLT) which provides lipids (including ceramides, squalane, and shea butter) in a lamellar structure similar to the skin's own natural intercellular lipids. This allows the cream to integrate into the damaged stratum corneum, restoring the epidermal lipid barrier and reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Additionally, it contains dexpanthenol (provitamin B5), which supports skin hydration and natural regeneration. It is free of fragrances, preservatives, and emulsifiers, making it suitable for sensitive populations including infants and pregnant women.
