Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bergacyn is a patented oral botanical nutraceutical developed by DolCas Biotech for metabolic and liver health support, particularly in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, metabolic syndrome, and obesity-related metabolic dysfunction. It is a combination product composed of bergamot polyphenolic fraction derived from *Citrus bergamia* and wild Calabrian artichoke thistle extract from *Cynara cardunculus*, standardized to contain at least 17% bergamot polyphenols and 5% cynaropicrin, and produced using a solvent-free extraction and co-grinding process. Rather than acting through a single defined molecular target typical of pharmaceuticals, Bergacyn appears to exert multimodal antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering, vasculoprotective, and hepatometabolic effects that have been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies, including reduction of hepatic steatosis and improvement in vascular and metabolic parameters at a typical studied dose of 600 mg/day.
