Beriplex

Beriplex (marketed as Kcentra in the United States) is a 4-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (4F-PCC) developed by CSL Behring. It is a biologic product containing the vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II, VII, IX, and X, as well as the antithrombotic proteins C and S. Beriplex is primarily indicated for the urgent reversal of acquired coagulation factor deficiency induced by vitamin K antagonist (VKA) therapy, such as warfarin, in adult patients with acute major bleeding or those requiring urgent surgery or invasive procedures. By rapidly increasing plasma levels of these essential clotting factors, the drug restores normal hemostatic function significantly faster than fresh frozen plasma. It is administered via intravenous injection and is currently being investigated for broader applications in managing traumatic injury-related hemorrhage.
