The drug candidate utilizes the company's proprietary Helicon platform, which consists of stabilized alpha-helical peptides designed to bind targets that are traditionally considered undruggable. By binding to beta-catenin with high affinity, the Helicon-enabled degrader facilitates the recruitment of the cellular ubiquitin-proteasome machinery, leading to the targeted degradation of the protein. This mechanism aims to inhibit the aberrant gene expression and oncogenic signaling associated with beta-catenin accumulation, which is a hallmark of various cancers, most notably colorectal cancer.
