This drug is a combination therapy consisting of beta-interferon, interleukin-2, and toremifene. It combines immunotherapy agents (beta-interferon and interleukin-2) with hormone therapy (toremifene) primarily used in the treatment of estrogen receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. - **Beta-interferon** is a cytokine that modulates immune response by inhibiting inflammatory pathways such as interferon-gamma and IL-12, affecting TH1 and TH17 cells. It has immunomodulatory effects useful in cancer immunotherapy. - **Interleukin-2 (IL-2)** is a cytokine that stimulates natural killer (NK) cell activity and lymphokine activated killer (LAK) cells, enhancing immune-mediated tumor cell killing. - **Toremifene** is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), acting as an estrogen antagonist on breast tissue but with some weak estrogenic effects on other tissues. It is used for hormone therapy in postmenopausal women with metastatic breast cancer. The combination aims to overcome endocrine resistance by combining the immune-stimulating effects of beta-interferon and IL-2 with the antiestrogenic effect of toremifene. Clinical studies have shown improved progression-free survival and overall survival in ER+ metastatic breast cancer patients receiving this combination compared to hormone therapy alone. The regimen has been generally well tolerated with mostly mild flu-like symptoms[8][6][7].
