Overview
Beta vulgaris pollen is a non-standardized allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the sugar beet plant (*Beta vulgaris*). Developed and manufactured by Greer Laboratories, it is primarily used as a diagnostic tool for skin testing to identify allergic sensitization in individuals, particularly those with occupational exposure in sugar beet seed production. It is also indicated for allergen immunotherapy to treat patients with a documented history of immediate hypersensitivity to sugar beet pollen. The extract contains specific allergen proteins such as Beta v 1 and Beta v 2. It is available as an injectable solution for intradermal, percutaneous, or subcutaneous administration.
