beta vulgaris root extract B8 is a specific experimental fraction derived from the root of the common beet (*Beta vulgaris*), characterized by its high nitrate content. Investigated primarily for its anti-obesity effects, the extract acts as a precursor to nitric oxide (NO). Preclinical studies in high-fat diet-induced obese mice demonstrate that B8 can attenuate body weight gain, reduce white adipose tissue mass, and decrease adipocyte size. Its molecular mechanism involves the downregulation of key adipogenic and lipogenic genes, including *Dgat2* and *PPARγ*. Additionally, the extract has shown potential in mitigating liver steatosis, though it does not appear to significantly influence glucose homeostasis or systemic blood pressure.
