Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination drug consisting of four active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Betamethasone** is a potent synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It modulates gene expression to suppress immune responses and reduce inflammation[5][3]. - **Ceftazidime** is a third-generation cephalosporin beta-lactam antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, primarily targeting penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP3), leading to bactericidal activity against susceptible Gram-negative bacteria[2][9]. - **Prednisolone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, similar in action to betamethasone. - **Sulfasalazine (also known as salazosulfapyridine)** is an anti-inflammatory disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) used mainly in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. It consists of 5-aminosalicylic acid linked to sulfapyridine; its mechanism involves both local anti-inflammatory effects in the colon and systemic immunomodulation[6][8]. This specific four-drug combination does not correspond to any widely recognized or marketed pharmaceutical product but represents the co-administration of these agents for their respective indications.
