Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of betamethasone, a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties, and etanercept, a dimeric fusion protein that binds to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha). This combination is used primarily for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, where etanercept provides systemic immunomodulation while betamethasone (often formulated with calcipotriene) offers topical anti-inflammatory effects. The combination has been shown to be particularly effective in maintaining response during etanercept maintenance therapy.
