Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a topical combination drug containing three active ingredients: - **Betamethasone valerate** (a potent synthetic corticosteroid) provides anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators and reducing immune response in the skin[1][6][7]. - **Fusidic acid** is a steroidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with elongation factor G (EF-G), making it effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. It treats or prevents secondary bacterial infections in inflamed skin[6][7]. - **Mometasone furoate** is another potent synthetic corticosteroid with similar anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties as betamethasone valerate. It acts via glucocorticoid receptors to reduce inflammation and immune responses in the skin[4][5]. The combination aims to treat inflammatory dermatoses (such as eczema or dermatitis) that are complicated by secondary bacterial infection. The dual corticosteroids provide strong local anti-inflammatory action while fusidic acid addresses concurrent or potential bacterial infection[5]. This type of fixed-dose triple combination is not widely marketed under a unique brand name but may be used in compounded preparations for dermatological use.
