Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Betuvax-CoV-2 is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine for COVID-19 based on the S-protein RBD fused with the Fc-fragment of IgG. It uses spherical particles with a betulin-based adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. The vaccine does not contain inactivated or weakened virus particles, vector viruses, genetic material (RNA or DNA), or inorganic adjuvants, making it potentially suitable for multiple revaccinations with minimal adverse reactions. Clinical trials have shown it to be safe and capable of inducing a strong humoral immune response.
