Overview

This is a four-drug combination regimen consisting of: - **Bevacizumab** (a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A/VEGF-A), - **Carboplatin** (a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis), - **Nivolumab** (a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed cell death protein 1/PD-1), and - **Paclitaxel** (a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agent). The combination is used as first-line therapy for advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without EGFR, ALK, or ROS1 driver mutations. The regimen leverages antiangiogenic effects from bevacizumab, cytotoxicity from carboplatin and paclitaxel, and immune activation via PD-1 blockade with nivolumab. Clinical trials have demonstrated improved progression-free survival and overall survival compared to standard regimens in this patient population[1][2][3].
