Overview

**Bevacizumab + dacarbazine** is an investigational combination of two pharmaceutical agents: bevacizumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), and dacarbazine, an alkylating agent. The combination has been studied primarily for the treatment of advanced or metastatic melanoma. Bevacizumab inhibits angiogenesis by blocking VEGF-A, thereby starving tumors of their blood supply. Dacarbazine acts as a cytotoxic chemotherapy drug, damaging DNA in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Clinical studies suggest this combination provides improved efficacy compared to dacarbazine monotherapy and offers potential benefits for specific melanoma subgroups, especially those not eligible for immunomodulating or targeted agents. The main route of administration is intravenous infusion for both agents[1][3][4].
