Bevacizumab + dasatinib is an experimental combination therapy consisting of two distinct anticancer agents. Bevacizumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds all biologically active isoforms of human vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thereby inhibiting angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels form to supply tumors[3][1]. The rationale for combining these drugs lies in their complementary mechanisms—bevacizumab blocks VEGF-driven angiogenesis while dasatinib inhibits Src-mediated signaling pathways that contribute to tumor growth and metastasis. Preclinical studies suggest this combination may prevent or delay resistance to anti-angiogenic therapy and provide synergistic antitumor effects[5][6]. Both drugs are individually approved for various cancers but their use together remains investigational; clinical trials have focused on advanced solid tumors and glioblastoma multiforme[1][4][7].
