A multi-agent oncology regimen combining the anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody bevacizumab, the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor erlotinib, the taxane chemotherapy docetaxel, and the corticosteroid prednisone. Mechanistically, bevacizumab inhibits angiogenesis by neutralizing VEGF-A; erlotinib selectively inhibits EGFR tyrosine kinase signaling; docetaxel stabilizes microtubules to inhibit mitosis; and prednisone provides anti-inflammatory and palliative effects and is standard with docetaxel in prostate cancer. This combination has been explored in clinical research settings, notably in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer where bevacizumab has been added to standard docetaxel + prednisone backbones; erlotinib has been studied with bevacizumab in other tumor contexts. The regimen is investigational as a four-drug combination and is not an approved fixed-combination product.
