Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bevacizumab + oxaliplatin is a combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to and neutralizes vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and reducing tumor vascularization. Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication, leading to cell death. This combination is often administered with other agents such as fluoropyrimidines (e.g., capecitabine or 5-fluorouracil) for enhanced efficacy in colorectal cancer therapy[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
