Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bevacizumab + tandutinib is a combination therapy that targets multiple aspects of tumor vasculature. Tandutinib (MLN518) is a piperazinyl quinazoline receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the autophosphorylation of FLT3, c-KIT, and PDGF receptor tyrosine kinases. Bevacizumab is an anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody. The combination was investigated primarily for its potential to enhance antitumor activity by targeting both VEGF (via bevacizumab) and PDGFR/c-KIT (via tandutinib) pathways, capitalizing on the concept of targeting tumor vasculature through multiple mechanisms.
