Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of two anti-VEGF drugs. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to VEGF-A, preventing it from interacting with VEGF receptors. Ziv-aflibercept is a recombinant fusion protein that acts as a soluble decoy receptor, binding to VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and placental growth factor (PlGF). Ziv-aflibercept has approximately 100-fold higher affinity for VEGF-A compared to bevacizumab.
