Overview

Bevacizumab MB02 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody to reference bevacizumab (originator: Avastin), developed primarily for the treatment of several cancers. Like Avastin, it inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thereby preventing VEGF from binding to its receptors on endothelial cells and inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. MB02 exhibits equivalent clinical efficacy, safety, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetics compared to reference bevacizumab, in both preclinical and clinical studies. The drug is developed by mAbxience and has been approved in the US and EU for multiple oncology indications, including metastatic colorectal cancer, non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, certain gynecological cancers, and others[1][2][4][5].
