Overview

Bevanovis is a humanized monoclonal antibody biosimilar of bevacizumab, developed by the Brazilian biopharmaceutical company Bionovis. It functions by binding to and neutralizing vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), a key mediator of angiogenesis. By inhibiting the interaction of VEGF-A with its receptors, Bevanovis prevents the formation of new blood vessels that supply nutrients and oxygen to tumors, thereby inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis. It is administered via intravenous infusion and is indicated for the treatment of various solid tumors, including metastatic colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, metastatic breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer. As a biosimilar, it is designed to be highly similar in terms of efficacy and safety to the reference product, Avastin.
