Overview

**BEVESPI AEROSPHERE** is a fixed-dose combination inhalation aerosol containing glycopyrrolate (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist, LAMA) and formoterol fumarate (a long-acting beta-2-adrenoceptor agonist, LABA), used for the long-term, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Glycopyrrolate inhibits the M3 muscarinic receptor at airway smooth muscle, resulting in bronchodilation, while formoterol induces bronchodilation through activation of beta-2 adrenoceptors, increasing intracellular cyclic AMP. The combination provides additive bronchodilator efficacy compared to each component alone. BEVESPI AEROSPHERE is delivered via a pressurized metered dose inhaler utilizing AstraZeneca’s Co-Suspension Technology for consistent dosing. It is not indicated for asthma or relief of acute bronchospasm[1][2][3][4][5][7][8][9].
