Bevifibatide is a synthetic peptide antiplatelet agent closely related to eptifibatide, differing by a single amino acid substitution. It acts as a potent and selective inhibitor of the platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GPIIb/IIIa) receptor, thereby preventing platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. Additionally, bevifibatide inhibits the integrin receptor αvβ3, which may contribute to suppression of vascular smooth muscle proliferation and prevention of arterial re-occlusion. Bevifibatide is formulated as an intravenous injectable solution and has been marketed for indications including unstable angina, non-Q wave myocardial infarction, non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and as an adjunct in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It is also being investigated in clinical trials for acute ischemic stroke without large or medium-sized vessel occlusion[6][8].
