bexmarilimab

Bexmarilimab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets Clever-1 (also known as Stabilin-1 or STAB1), an immunosuppressive receptor highly expressed on macrophages in the tumor microenvironment. By binding to Clever-1, bexmarilimab inhibits its function, leading to reprogramming of myeloid cells and enhancing antigen presentation. This immune activation can overcome resistance to standard-of-care therapies and promote anti-tumor immunity. Bexmarilimab is being developed primarily for hematological malignancies such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with ongoing clinical trials evaluating its efficacy both as monotherapy and in combination with agents like azacitidine or venetoclax[2][4][5][9]. The drug has received orphan drug designation from the FDA for both MDS and AML[5][8].
