Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BF-114 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Bullfrog AI Holdings that targets Beta-II Spectrin (SPTBN1). Developed using the proprietary bfLEAP™ artificial intelligence platform, BF-114 is designed to treat metabolic and liver diseases by silencing the expression of SPTBN1, a protein implicated in the progression of liver fibrosis and metabolic dysfunction. The drug is currently in preclinical development for indications including obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Research supporting its mechanism of action has demonstrated that targeting β2-spectrin can prevent the progression of liver disease in animal models.
