Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BFM-FGX-001 is a plant-produced antibody fusion protein developed by Baiya Phytopharm for the treatment of various oncology indications. Engineered using the proprietary Fuseplanta™ platform, the molecule consists of a monoclonal antibody targeting Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) fused with the cytokine Interleukin-15 (IL-15). This bifunctional design is intended to overcome tumor-induced immunosuppression by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitory checkpoint while simultaneously providing potent stimulation to effector T cells and natural killer (NK) cells through IL-15 signaling. This dual mechanism aims to promote a more robust and sustained anti-tumor immune response compared to checkpoint blockade alone.
