Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BFM-RSV-002 is a monoclonal antibody candidate developed by Baiya Phytopharm for the prevention and treatment of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection. It is produced using the proprietary PlantamAb™ platform, a plant-based recombinant protein expression system that utilizes *Nicotiana benthamiana*. BFM-RSV-002 specifically targets the RSV Fusion (F) protein, which is essential for the virus to fuse with and enter host respiratory cells. By binding to this protein, the antibody neutralizes the virus and prevents infection. As a plant-produced biologic, it represents a potentially cost-effective alternative to traditional mammalian cell-culture-based antibody production.
