BG-T19 is a modified autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy developed by Guangzhou Bio-gene Technology. It specifically targets CD19 (cluster of differentiation 19), a protein expressed on the surface of B cells and B-cell malignancies. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CD19, enabling targeted immunologic cytotoxicity against malignant or pathogenic B cells. This approach is designed for the treatment of hematological cancers such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), precursor B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia-lymphoma (B-ALL), and has also entered clinical trials for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The product leverages proprietary technology to enrich for memory stem cell-like T cells with enhanced anti-tumor activity and persistence[1][2][3].
