BG2301 is an investigational autologous bispecific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to simultaneously target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D). Developed by the 920th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China, it is intended for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have failed multiple prior lines of therapy. By targeting two distinct antigens highly expressed on myeloma cells, BG2301 aims to reduce the risk of antigen escape-mediated relapse, a common limitation of single-target CAR-T therapies. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express receptors for both BCMA and GPRC5D, which then identify and eliminate malignant plasma cells upon re-infusion.
