Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BGA003 is a peptide nucleic acid (PNA) anti-gene oligonucleotide developed by Biogenera for the treatment of various cancers. It utilizes Biogenera's proprietary Ag-PNA technology platform to target the *MYC* gene. Unlike traditional antisense oligonucleotides that target mRNA, Ag-PNAs are designed to bind directly to the genomic DNA sequence of the target gene, inhibiting its transcription (anti-gene mechanism). *MYC* is a well-known proto-oncogene that is frequently overexpressed in a wide range of human cancers, where it drives cell proliferation, metabolic reprogramming, and survival. BGA003 is currently in the preclinical development stage, with research completed and preclinical studies ongoing.
