BGA011 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed by Biogenera, utilizing their proprietary anti-gene peptide nucleic acid (Ag-PNA) platform. Ag-PNAs are synthetic oligonucleotides where the sugar-phosphate backbone is replaced by a N-(2-aminoethyl)glycine backbone, providing high stability against enzymatic degradation and high binding affinity to genomic DNA. BGA011 is designed to selectively block the transcription of a specific gene involved in the pathogenesis of dermatological diseases.
