Overview

BGC20-0134 (also known as Pleneva) is an orally administered structured lipid that was investigated for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Developed by BTG International (later acquired by Boston Scientific), the compound is a synthetic triglyceride designed to deliver specific fatty acids intended to modulate the immune response and provide neuroprotective effects. The drug reached Phase IIa clinical development (NCT00505375), where it was evaluated for its ability to reduce the cumulative number of new gadolinium-enhancing lesions in MS patients. However, the clinical program was terminated by the sponsor and is no longer active in the Boston Scientific pipeline.
