Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BGE-102 is an orally available, small-molecule inhibitor of NLRP3 (NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 3), developed by BioAge Labs. It is designed to penetrate the brain and inhibit NLRP3 inflammasome activity, a key driver of neuroinflammation. The drug has potential best-in-class features including high potency and high brain penetration, making it suitable for treating neuroinflammatory conditions such as those linked to metabolic diseases like obesity. As of early 2025, BGE-102 remains in preclinical development with IND-enabling studies underway; Phase 1 single ascending dose (SAD) data are anticipated by the end of 2025.
