Overview

BGR-34 (Blood Glucose Regulator-34) is an Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation developed by India's National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and Central Institute for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) under the patronage of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Launched commercially by Aimil Pharmaceuticals in 2016, it is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes. The formulation is derived from six medicinal plants: Daruharidra (*Berberis aristata*), Giloy (*Tinospora cordifolia*), Vijaysar (*Pterocarpus marsupium*), Gudmar (*Gymnema sylvestre*), Manjeestha (*Rubia cordifolia*), and Methi (*Trigonella foenum-graecum*). BGR-34 is reported to act as a natural dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, which helps regulate blood glucose levels while also exerting antioxidant and cardioprotective actions.
