Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BGT-004 is a small molecule Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by BGT Biopharma (博骥源(上海)生物医药有限公司) for the topical treatment of atopic dermatitis. By selectively inhibiting JAK1, BGT-004 modulates the signaling pathways of several pro-inflammatory cytokines that are central to the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis, including IL-4, IL-13, and IL-31. This mechanism effectively reduces skin inflammation and pruritus. Formulated as a topical cream, BGT-004 is designed to provide localized therapeutic effects while minimizing systemic exposure and the potential for systemic side effects typically associated with oral JAK inhibitors. It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development in China.
