**BH-01** is a synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminal domain (amino acids 108-138) of the bacteriophage lysin PlyF307, engineered as an antimicrobial agent against multidrug-resistant *Acinetobacter baumannii*. It functions by disrupting the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, achieving >3-log kill in vitro, with an optimized variant (P307 SQ-8C) showing >5-log kill, activity against biofilms, synergy with polymyxin B, and efficacy in reducing bacterial burden in murine skin infection models. Developed initially by Bioharmony Therapeutics from research at The Rockefeller University, it has been licensed to Boehringer Ingelheim and is intended for topical treatment of *Acinetobacter* skin infections, with no hemolysis of human red blood cells observed despite serum inhibition of activity.[1][4]
