Overview

BH259 is a bifunctional fusion protein developed by Zhuhai Beihai Biotechnology, designed to simultaneously target the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) and the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathways. By blocking PD-L1, BH259 aims to restore T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity, while the TGF-β trap component neutralizes TGF-β in the tumor microenvironment, which is often associated with immune evasion, fibrosis, and resistance to checkpoint inhibitors. This dual mechanism is intended to overcome immunosuppression and enhance therapeutic efficacy in patients with advanced solid tumors. BH259 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary anti-tumor activity.
