The company's research has explored various technological platforms, including Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) based on the L1 capsid protein and a chimeric L2-based approach. Specifically, one strategy involved the expression of an L2-HBV small surface antigen fusion protein in the yeast *Pichia pastoris* to generate VLPs. The vaccine is intended to elicit a robust immune response, producing neutralizing antibodies that protect against viral infection and the subsequent development of HPV-related lesions.
