Overview

BHES-HAUS (Buccal Epithelium Hashed and Encapsulated in Scaffold–Hybrid Approach to Urethral Stricture) is an autologous cell therapy developed by GN Corporation and Nichi Glucan for the treatment of urethral stricture. The therapy utilizes a simplified approach where buccal epithelial cells are harvested from the patient, hashed, and encapsulated within a scaffold to facilitate the regeneration and repair of the urethral lining. This hybrid approach aims to provide a less invasive and more efficient alternative to traditional urethroplasty techniques that require extensive ex vivo cell expansion or large tissue grafts. Preliminary clinical results have demonstrated safety and promising outcomes, with data scheduled for presentation at the AUA 2026 Annual Meeting.
