Overview

BHV-8100 is a brain-penetrant, orally administered small molecule activator of the M2 isoform of pyruvate kinase (PKM2), developed by Biohaven Ltd. By stimulating PKM2, the drug aims to restore glycolytic flux and address the bioenergetic and immunometabolic deficits associated with neurodegenerative diseases and aging. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other central nervous system (CNS) disorders, as well as systemic immunometabolic conditions. As of mid-2026, BHV-8100 has entered Phase 1 clinical trials, demonstrating favorable pharmacokinetics suitable for once-daily dosing and a well-tolerated safety profile.
