Overview

BI-1206 is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody that targets the Fc gamma receptor IIb (CD32b, also known as FcγRIIB) on B cells. By binding to CD32b, it blocks this inhibitory receptor and enhances immune-mediated killing of malignant B cells. This mechanism can restore or enhance the efficacy of other anti-cancer antibodies such as rituximab by preventing their internalization and degradation, thereby increasing their availability to mediate antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity. BI-1206 is being developed primarily for hematological malignancies including non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), follicular lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and has also been studied in solid tumors in combination with pembrolizumab. The drug has received orphan drug designation for follicular lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma[1][2][3][7].
