Overview

BI 1823911 is an orally available, small molecule inhibitor that selectively targets the KRAS G12C mutation, a specific oncogenic substitution in the KRAS protein. By binding to and inhibiting the activity of mutant KRAS G12C, it disrupts downstream signaling pathways essential for tumor cell proliferation and survival. The drug is being developed primarily for advanced or metastatic solid tumors harboring the KRAS G12C mutation—including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma—especially in patients who have progressed after standard therapies. It is currently under investigation as both monotherapy and in combination with other targeted agents such as SOS1 inhibitors[1][2][4][6].
